The first Butterworth – Penang Island ferry leaves at 5.20 a.m. Nope, we did not take that vessel. Instead, we left for Butterworth at about 5 a.m. and took the 7.05 a.m. ferry to the Island of laksa, ochien and views for days.

Even as we were amongst a crowd of office-goers commuting to work, Jaron and Kim were lost in the moment on that breezy boat ride with the best view of the day – each other.

In that moment, slow dancing on a gently rocking boat just seemed like the most natural thing to do on a working Thursday morning.

“You’ve gotta dance like there’s nobody watching,
Love like you’ll never be hurt,
Sing like there’s nobody listening,
And live like it’s heaven on earth.”
