Part I – Cinta Kampung

Photographed in Perak, Malaysia.

Road trip with Daniel Chan.

It was a rainy Wednesday morning in the small town of Ipoh. From our conversations with Jaron and Kim, we knew that no rain or storm would stop them from having the best day, anyway. In fact, for the couple, a little drizzle is a welcome sign to dance in the rain.

7 a.m came and the skies made way in time for a comfortable photoshoot. With soft light coming through the clouds and cool breeze blowing through this hidden lake that we found, nested within a mining area. It was a nice private moment for the couple with no one else around. Good thing we brought some music to add a little romance in the atmosphere.

No walking over puddles or gravels for Jaron’s wife to-be!

We absolutely adored that as cheeky as they were during the photoshoots, we’d catch incredibly sweet moments like this when no one else was looking.

As the rain started to fall, Jaron and Kim made their way back for shelter, gleefully crossing the grids of Ipoh town under the heavy drizzle.

Fresh scent arose as rainwater saturated the streets. A bright and sunny afternoon had turned into a refreshing, childlike evening.

There was a certain nostalgia about that moment. Just two people enjoying the rain and each other.

Happiness is found in the littlest moments.
